New Release, Review, & Giveaway – Hard Lessons by Charlotte West

Cover Design: Sarah Hansen/Okay Creations

Release Date: August 28, 2017

Synopsis

Down-on-her-luck teacher, Daisy Clemmens, is about to learn some hard lessons. (Not like that, you perv.)

Lesson One

No matter how broke you are, never agree to a job that includes a rabid eight-year-old, requires a tetanus shot or where your boss is a sexy (and cranky) rock ‘n’ roll god.

Lesson Two

Do not, do not start to have tender, gooey feelings for the sexy commitment-phobe rock ‘n’ roll god. You’ll only get hurt.

Lesson Three

Okay so you’ve slept with the sexy rock ‘n’ roll god. But it’s not too late. Just whatever you do, don’t fall in love. Whoops. Too late.

Lesson Four

Never love someone, even if they are a sexy rock ‘n’ roll god, more than yourself.

My Review – 4 Stars

Thank you for writing Billy and Daisy’s back story, Charlotte!

Note: This can be read before or after book 1, Good Lies, since it’s technically a prequel. There’s only a little spoiler in the epilogue, but nothing you wouldn’t expect to know going into book 1. However, there are some spoilers in regard to the outcome of Billy and Daisy’s relationship, but knowing them doesn’t take away from either book.

I was so excited to experience how Billy and Daisy came to be the couple they were in Good Lies. Hearing bits and pieces of their history made me want more from them. Charlotte did a fabulous job of creating these characters and their interactions. I loved their histories and understanding more about the people they were outside of Addison’s point of view. And every tension-filled interaction and moments of teasing banter was worth going through a little heartbreak and frustration as I witnessed their journey.

Daisy was not only the perfect nanny for Addison, but she was the perfect match for Billy. She was strong, caring, and sassy, even if she could be a little soft and swoony over Billy at times. When it mattered she was able to stand her ground, and Daisy certainly gave Billy a run for his money. He didn’t stand a chance against the control she seemed to have over his heart. It was fun watching Billy try to deny the hold she had on him and finally give in and admit his feelings. And the ending had me laughing out loud; poor Daisy!

About the Author

Charlotte West writes romance about strong heroines and the sexy alpha males who love them. She lives in Washington state with her husband and very large dog (think miniature pony size). She spends way too much money on books, and way too much time reading. When she’s not reading, she’s feeding her reality television addiction, eating chocolate, or traveling. She’s been known to eat her weight in Girl Scout cookies. She has a degree in Science and a Master’s in Education, neither of which she is currently using but is still paying for. Occasionally, she moonlights as a YA author.
