My Review – 4.5 Stars
This book was so much more than I had imagined it would be. It was my first by this author, and she’s officially made it onto my one-click list. There are so many things I would love to discuss or mention in regard to what made this book so special, but I can’t without revealing too much of the journey these three individuals took. So I’ll say this…I fell in love with these characters and their strength and compassion. I felt their pain, loss, and passion. And I longed for their peace and happiness whether it be within themselves or with someone else. I think the author superbly incorporated scenes from the past with the present to allow us glimpses into Cole and Mila’s happiness before the devastation, and I loved how she used art to communicate feelings. I also loved the easy friendship between Mila and Andrew. They have a unique and special connection that made it easy to love them.
Mila, Andrew, and Cole’s lives were intricately woven into a heartbreaking and wonderful tale, one that was written in a way that I can truly say I wasn’t sure what road I was hoping Mila would take in the beginning. That didn’t last long, however, as I got to know these characters through understanding their histories, states of mind, passions, and flaws. I enjoyed witnessing Mila’s journey as she was forced into making a decision. She could choose something new and exciting with Andrew, her best friend and business partner, or give in to her long buried feelings for Cole, which could lead to another broken heart but possibly the forever she had always hoped for with him. It became evident who Mila should choose as the dynamics of each relationship were revealed. I loved every minute of this story, and I was pleased with how it ended. Now, I’m hoping that we will see more of these characters in future books.

Veronica Larsen began writing around the age of seven, scribbling Nancy Drew-like stories between the margins of composition notebooks. Her journey into the romance genre began once upon a long military deployment when she penned a steamy romance for her husband, a US Marine. This story eventually turned into her debut novel Entangle. She fell in love with writing romance and hasn’t looked back since. Her novels are known to feature engaging story-lines, relatable characters that tap into heart-tugging truths, and a tangible chemistry that builds throughout the story. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, which has come in handy in resolving the messy lives of the fictional people in her head.
