Cover Design: Cover Me Darling
I moved on.
I couldn’t hold on to what was deteriorating, devastating, destroying,
And now, I have real love.
The kind that means something,
Rocking in chairs and growing old.
But, choosing between the past and future is too painful.
I was bound to Gray, but he lost me,
Let me slip through his fingers.
That was then.
This is now.

My Review – 4.5 Stars
This author is the queen of prologues! Stephie Walls knows how to hook you in and have you begging for more. Bound (book 1) left us hanging at the point where Gray called Annie from the church. Freed picks up with Annie getting married but we’re left wondering to whom. I loved how the author jumped around in time at the beginning to give the reader the full effect of the decisions Annie made and how she came to be standing in front of the man who was the love of her life. I was ecstatic that we got the dual points of view in this book; it was refreshing to see the depth of love, commitment, and patience Annie and her love had for each other.
I adored so many things about this book, especially watching Annie grow emotionally. It seemed like Annie was finally able to be free of all the burdens and perfectionism that constantly plagued her. She was learning to cope in healthy ways, be confident, and love herself first. And she’d found unconditional love. However, her relationship and emotional stability were tested time and time again by external and internal forces. I worried for her and hoped she wouldn’t revert back to old habits of internalizing her feelings and using drugs to make her feel like she could handle the stressors in her life.
It’s killing me not to say more about Annie’s life and love, but I don’t want to give anything away. I hope you’ll take a chance on this duet and not let the first book deter you from reading the conclusion to Annie’s story. She’s so much more than the flawed and broken woman we see in Bound. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
I may be flawed; we all are.
But I’m smart, driven, and ready to take on the world.
No one needs to know the rest.
I wasn’t counting on him, couldn’t imagine someone like him coming into my life.
The blue eyes, the chiseled body, the man I can’t resist.
Truthfully, I have no plans of ever resisting him.
He has the carefree, playboy life he wants,
The one he created and refuses to give up.
But he didn’t count on me waltzing in and changing everything.
Gray can’t deny his passion for me—all parts of me,
Even the truth I try to bury—the flaws he knows I’m hiding.
And trust me, he’s imperfect too.
But sometimes, we need more than love—more than we can give.
