After an intense whirlwind romance, Karrie Parker thought she had it all: a sexy husband, a loving family, a great career and a beautiful home.

Together they lived a life fit for royalty.

But when tragedy strikes, Karrie is devastated and left to face the consequences of her husband’s deepest, darkest secrets. Discovering the strength to carry on while making important, life-changing decisions, she finds herself desperate for answers. And holding the key to the puzzle is the one man she loathes immensely.

For up and coming motorcycle drag racer Tyler Strong, keeping painful secrets was never part of the plan. Racing motorcycles and winning was all he ever wanted to do. But when his best friend’s lies begin to unravel, Tyler is sent into a tailspin when he’s forced to come face to face with the one woman he vowed to stay away from. The woman he refuses to speak to, the woman he avoids, the woman he watches…from a distance.

As the truth becomes clear, will destiny bring these two unlikely souls together or tear them apart forever?

My Review – 4 Stars

There’s a thin line between love and hate, and that has never been more clear than it was reading Karrie’s story. It also reflects my feelings about this book, at least in the beginning. I absolutely loved Tyler! He’s sweet, loyal, passionate, caring, a drag racer, and obviously the perfect book boyfriend (besides the whole keeping your best friend’s secrets thing). However, I wasn’t a huge fan of Karrie in the beginning. Her emotions towards Tyler seemed WAY too exaggerated for me. For someone who she knew nothing about, her strong hatred of Tyler seemed to be over-the-top. In my opinion, in the back of her mind, she knew the truth about her husband on some level and chose to use Tyler as an outlet for her rage. Once Karrie moved past her misconceptions and the deceit, I thoroughly enjoyed their journey to happily ever after. And while there wasn’t much angst to Tyler and Karrie’s story, there was enough to shake things up for this couple. And the ending? Get your tissues ready!

About the Author

L.M. Carr, author of The Giving Trilogy, is a wife, a mom, an educator, a reader and a writer who lives in central Connecticut with her family and two dogs. When she’s not sitting at her computer writing, she loves to read or spend time with family and friends.

The idea for the trilogy formed in the summer of 2013 and wouldn’t leave her alone, until she picked up a pen and jotted the thoughts down. Before long, words flowed as the story began to unravel.

L.M. Carr is a lover of “Happily Ever Afters” because the world is filled with enough sadness. Reading is an escape in which anything is possible. But like in reality, stories sometimes take you on a journey through Hell before you can reach Heaven.

Follow along as we begin this journey together.
