Royal Scandal, a sexy all-new STANDALONE from Marquita Valentine is now LIVE!!!

Fairy tales do come true—and so do tabloid scandals! New York Times bestselling author Marquita Valentine kicks off a juicy contemporary romance series with a novel about a prince whose best-laid plans go deliciously awry when he marries the maid next door.

Forced to flee to the United States with his siblings after their parents’ assassination, Crown Prince Colin Sinclair takes it upon himself to become the caretaker of his family while hiding out near Charlotte, North Carolina. But after a decade in hiding, the secret’s out and Parliament demands that Colin wed a princess of their choosing. Unwilling to play their game, Colin decides to marry an American instead, and he has the perfect candidate in mind.

As a home-service professional, Della Hughes doesn’t believe in storybook endings. But when her best friend and secret crush reveals that he’s a flesh-and-blood prince, she doesn’t know what to think. Still, she’ll do anything for Colin, including becoming his wife—in name only, of course. But when their plans to stay purely platonic go by the wayside, their fake honeymoon turns all too real. After a week of white-hot nights, Della can no longer deny her feelings—not with a happily ever after so tantalizingly close.

My Review

I absolutely adored Colin and Della’s love story. It was lighthearted, funny, sexy, and a bit intriguing. There’s nothing that I love more than the friends-to-lovers trope. Add in a marriage of convenience, no matter how quickly the fakeness of it all ends, and you’re golden. It was clear from the moment Della came barreling into Colin’s crazy and secretive life that these two were meant to be. I just don’t know how or why they held out for so long or why it took a threat from Parliament to force Colin into her arms. I guess we wouldn’t have a story to read otherwise.

In addition to their journey, I sincerely loved these characters. The author did an excellent job of developing them and providing depth to their personalities and histories. I thought Della and Colin were great as friends and even better as lovers. They complemented each other and their relationship was real. I especially loved how playful Della was and that her attitude did not change toward Colin or his family once she found out who the Sinclairs were. In turn, I loved Colin’s treatment of those around him, overall disposition, and love of his family. The author could have made him cocky and brash, but he wouldn’t have had the same level of respect nor been able to build a 10 year relationship with someone as wonderful as Della.

I’m looking forward to reading more about the Sinclair family. Thanks to the bonus chapters at the end of this book, I’m going to be anxiously awaiting the arrival of Charlotte’s journey to HEA.
